Job Description:  Registered Dental Hygienist

Job Summary

The Registered Dental Hygienist is a professional member of the dental team, who provides skilled preventive care to patients, in compliance with the Dental Practice Act and the policies and procedures of HealthStaff.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program. Currently licensed in the state of practice.
  • Minimum of one-year recent dental hygiene experience or equivalent experience as determined by Clinical Director.
  • Shows evidence of fulfilling health requirements of HealthStaff and the state of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews all patient charts for periodontal history.
  • Reviews patients health history prior to providing any treatment.
  • Functions under the Direct Supervision of the Dentist.
  • Takes radiographs as prescribed by Dentist.
  • Observes, evaluates and applies knowledge of Dental Hygiene skills to the patients assigned.
  • Works cooperatively with the dental team, providing care in that setting.
  • Accurately reports and records patient information.
  • Provides individualized Oral Hygiene Instruction to each patient.
  • Participates in office meeting as needed.
  • Performs within limits of preparation and experience. Provides Dental Hygiene care within the guidelines of the Dental Practice Act for that state.

 

 

 

 

Job Description:  Dental Assistant

Job Summary

The Dental Assistant is a para-professional employee, trained to provide direct assistance to the Dentist. The Dental Assistant functions under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Dentist.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older and able to read and write consistent with job requirements.
  • Has at least one year of experience as a Dental Assistant.
  • Shows evidence of fulfilling health requirements of HealthStaff and the state of practice.
  • Has a reliable means of transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Dentist chairside.
  • Seats the patients and does a preliminary evaluation of their health history and their chief complaint.
  • Reports all finding to the Dentist in a professional manner.
  • Sets up and breaks down rooms for each procedure using proper infection control and barrier techniques.
  • Sterilizes all instruments and equipment as required by the Dental Practice Act for that state.
  • Practices honesty, dependability and confidentiality regarding all patient matters.
  • Correctly documents treatment notes and dental charting as required by specific Dentist.

Job Summary

The Receptionist is a front office employee, trained to provide direct assistance to the patients. The Receptionist functions under the direction, instruction and supervision of the Doctor.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older and able to read and write consistent with job requirements.
  • Has at least one year of front office experience.
  • Shows evidence of fulfilling health requirements of HealthStaff and the state of practice.
  • Has a professional appearance and telephone skill.
  • Has knowledge of insurance, insurance codes and procedure codes.

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming calls.
  • Greets and directs patients upon arrival.
  • Has computer skills required for scheduling patients.
  • Posts payments by patients and insurance companies as required by specific offices.

  • Practices honesty, dependability and confidentiality regarding all patient matters.
